Bishop Kagan will lead a holy hour on the eve of the N.D. March for Life on Thursday, Oct. 9 beginning at 7 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit. The public is invited to attend.

Take the opportunity to stand up for the unborn at the N.D. Rally for Life on Friday, Oct. 10. The day begins with Mass celebrated by Bishop Kagan at 10:30 a.m. at the Bismarck Event Center (use door A1) followed by the rally at the same location. In light of recent events of violence in our nation and from advice of local law enforcement, members of the N.D. Pro-Life Committee decided to move the event indoors. With safety as the concern, the march from the Bismarck Event Center to the state capitol lawn has been canceled. The schedule of events remains the same as previously announced, only the rally location changed to all events in the Bismarck Event Center. The schedule is: 9:30 a.m. – door A1 open to attendees; 10:30 a.m. – Mass; after Mass – lunch served until gone; 12:30 p.m. – rally for life. The public is invited. A remembrance Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Kagan on Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 5:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit. All are welcome to attend, especially parents, grandparents and siblings who grieve the loss of a child resulting from miscarriage, stillbirth, abortion or early infant death. October is pregnancy and infant loss awareness month and Oct. 15 is designated nationally as pregnancy and infant loss remembrance day.

The public is invited to the Red Mass on Monday, Oct. 20 at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit at 5:30 p.m. This Mass celebrates with those involved in the administration of justice—judges, attorneys, law professors, law students and government officials.

Robert (Bob) Nickola will be ordained as permanent deacon for the diocese on Friday, Oct. 24 at 2 p.m. by Bishop Kagan at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit. Bob and his wife, Joan, have three grown children. He is retired and is currently a full-time volunteer at the Church of Queen of Peace in Dickinson. Bob is the 40th class of permanent deacons to be ordained for the diocese. Please pray for Bob and his family as he prepares to serve the people of the diocese as a permanent deacon. The public is invited to attend the Bismarck Diocese’s annual White Mass on Monday, Oct. 27 at 5:30 p.m. at Cathedral of the Holy Spirit in Bismarck. The special Mass honors healthcare professionals, active and retired.
