The Bismarck Diocese has an immediate opening for a part-time cook to work 8 hours every Thursday of the week at the Emmaus Place, a priest retirement facility in Bismarck. This cook position offers a competitive wage and an opportunity that allows the individual to serve our retired priests of Jesus Christ, whom have so faithfully for many years administered to us the sacraments and served the people of the Bismarck Diocese. Job duties include grocery shopping, preparing, and serving meals for the residents, and clean-up. Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to lift and carry 20 pounds. Prior cooking knowledge and experience is desirable. All offers of employment are pending a clear background check and reference check.

The Strong Roots, Bright Futures program at Catholic Charities North Dakota is seeking donations to fill their trailer with gently used baby items. All items are given for free to families in need at their local Bundle Up Your Baby Bump event on Saturday, August 8. This is a great chance to pass along gently used baby items while making a real difference for families in need in our community. Drop off gently used baby supplies (newborn-5T) on Thursday, July 30 ONLY from 4 to 8 p.m. in the trailer located outside the front of the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit at 520 Raymond Street in Bismarck. You are invited to the annual Town and Country Celebration on Sunday, July 19. The event will be held at the Church of St. Vincent de Paul in Crown Butte. The day will begin with Mass celebrated by Bishop Kagan inside the church at 11 a.m. Lunch will follow Mass. There will be a blessing upon rural communities, equipment, land and animals. Attendees are invited to bring a container of soil or seed from their field or garden to be blessed. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and umbrellas to enjoy the day outdoors. The process includes a background check and other questions, to determine the applicant’s suitability. Following a screening process, the applicant may be able to obtain certification to teach a USCCB approved method of NFP through the method’s specific training.
