The Cathedral of the Holy Spirit ishiring for the position of a full time Parish Secretary, the first face and welcoming presence of the parish office, providing hospitality, administrative support, and organizational coordination to ensure the smooth operation of parish life. This role involves frequent interaction with parishioners, visitors, volunteers, and ministry leaders, and requires professionalism, discretion, and a spirit of service rooted in the mission of the Catholic Church.
Primary Objectives: • Provide support to the Rector, Business Manager, Director of Stewardship and Development, and other staff as needed in promotion of the parish to the local Catholic community • Facilitate parish communications and act as minister of hospitality to the community for the parish office • Maintain accurate parish records (census)
Major Areas of Responsibilities: • Answer telephone, take messages, or transfer calls • Warmly greet office visitors and maintain secure office environment • Assist with requests for Emergency Assistance for the Poor • Handle routine questions regarding parish functions • Schedule activities on parish calendar in Mass Intentions Online • Distribute mail to staff daily • Assist with parish bulk mailings • Assist maintaining the parishioner member database • Update Our Sunday Visitor website with envelope changes • Mail accurate notifications of Confirmations • Other duties as assigned
